Diesen Artikel auf Deutsch lesenWhen a shop is set up from scratch or the shop system is changed (or an incompatible version upgrade is performed), we recommend the following procedure.
Background
Komfortkasse retrieves orders from the shop system. When the shop is set up from scratch, these orders are generally no longer available. If the orders are migrated or imported into the new shop, duplicate orders may occur. This can lead to problems with the assignment of payments.
Even if orders with the same order number are transferred to the new store, this can still cause problems. In most store systems, each order receives a unique technical ID that does not match the old store’s ID in the new store.
Changing the Shop System of an Existing Store
As long as there are no orders for a store in Komfortkasse yet, the shop system can be freely changed in the merchant area.
Once orders are present, the shop system of an existing shop can only be changed when upgrading to a new version of the same platform:
- Shopware (versions 4 and 5) to Shopware (version 6)
- Magento 1 to Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce
In these cases, the store remains the same (same customers, sequential order numbers). Orders that have been transferred to the new system are identified by their order number. After the change, the API access settings are reset, and the shop connection must be reestablished.
For all other migrations (e.g., from Shopware to WooCommerce or from Shopify to invoicing software), you do not change the shop system along with the orders for the shop. Instead, create an additional shop as described below. If you have any questions, Komfortkasse Support will be happy to assist you.
Recommended Procedure
A new shop should be created in Komfortkasse. The URL of the existing shop can be renamed (e.g., “old.mystore.de,” “mystore.de_old,” or similar). If the existing shop is no longer online, the connection in Komfortkasse must be separated.
The new shop should be created in Komfortkasse as a new shop, and the connection should be reestablished. If orders are transferred or imported from the old shop to the new one, the connection should not be reestablished until all orders have been imported. Otherwise, Payment information for these orders may be sent again.
If multiple Bank accounts are used and Bank accounts have been explicitly assigned to shops, the new shop should be added to the assignment list before it is connected.
overview
The recommended steps in the overview:
- Disconnect from the old shop if the old shop is no longer online
- Change the URL of the old shop
- Add the new shop
- Establish shop connection
Parallel Operation
It is also possible to continue running the old shop in parallel for a transitional period. This is typically done on a different domain or subdomain.
In this case, payments received for orders placed in the old store would be assigned to the corresponding order in the old store as usual and transferred to the shop.
If the old and new shops are operated in parallel and orders are additionally transferred or imported from the old shop to the new one, this would lead to assignment issues without further precautions, since the same order number would now exist in both the old and new shops. In this case, we recommend marking the old shop as a “test/development system” so that no assignments are made for that shop.
